Privacy Policy

Overview
Showrunner is a native macOS app that renames your media files and files them into your Jellyfin library. It is built to do its job locally on your Mac and to keep your data to itself. In short: Showrunner does not collect, store, or share any personal information.
Information we collect
None. Showrunner has no account system, no analytics, no tracking, and no advertising. It does not transmit your files, your library contents, or any identifying information to us — we operate no servers that receive your data.
Third-party services
To identify your media, Showrunner sends search queries — derived from the names of the files you drop on it (for example a title and year) — to TheMovieDatabase (TMDB). TMDB returns matching titles, metadata, and artwork. These requests are made over a secure connection and are subject to TMDB's own privacy policy. Showrunner sends only what is needed to find a match; it does not send your full file paths or library to TMDB.
Your files and permissions
Showrunner is sandboxed by macOS. It can only access the folders you explicitly choose, and that access is remembered through the standard macOS security mechanism so you do not have to grant it repeatedly. Your media and the changes Showrunner makes stay entirely on your own Mac and the storage you point it at. Nothing is written until you press Process All, and existing files are never overwritten.
Analytics and tracking
Showrunner contains no analytics frameworks, crash trackers, or advertising SDKs. We do not profile you and do not build any record of how you use the app.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted here with a revised “last updated” date.
